The Tennessee Volunteers trailed 8-5 entering the ninth inning against the Wright State Raiders but Drew Gilbert’s grand slam in the bottom of the ninth, gave Tennessee one of the more legendary wins in program history. Conner Pavolony led off the ninth with a hard hit single, Max Ferguson cracked a one out single to left center, putting runners on the corners for Jake Rucker. Wright State made a pitching change, bringing in Austin Cline but he walked Rucker on 5 pitches to load the bases, bringing up Gilbert. Cline left a hanging breaking ball high in the strike zone and Gilbert hammered a walk-off grand slam to beat the Raiders 9-8.
