The No. 2 ranked Georgia Bulldogs found themselves backed up inside their 10 yard line with seconds left against No. 20 Georgia Bulldogs with an undefeated season on the line. The inconceivable happened, on a 3rd and 11, Benjamin “Buck” Belue scrambled to his right and found Lindsay Scott open with a mid-range pass near the middle of the field. Scott did the rest, racing away from the Gator defenders all the way to a 93 yard touchdown for a Bulldog victory which led to an eventual National Championship in 1980.
