On a cold day mixed with icy rain, Eddie George and the Ohio State Buckeyes faced Illinois, one of the best rush defenses during the 1995 season. Taking the handoff from Bobby Hoying, George breaks a tackle and runs away from defenders for a beautiful 64 yard touchdown run to extend Ohio States lead to 24-3. George finished his record setting day with 36 rushes for 314 yards and 2 touchdowns along with 4 catches for 32 yards and 1 receiving touchdown. The 314 yards from scrimmage broke Keith Byars single game rushing record that was set 11 years prior.
